Daoyin

Daoyin is an ancient practice created by the Daoist sages of China. Its name is derived from the Chinese proverb 導氣令和,引體令柔 (dao qi ling he, yin ti ling rou), which means "Guide the qi to bring harmony, pull/draw the body to create softness".

Much like its Indian counterpart, it combines breathing and gentle stretches that work on developing the subtle awareness of the body, breath and mind. Where Indian styles of yoga are based on Ayurveda Medicine and tend to follow linear movements, Daoyin finds its roots in Chinese Traditional Medicine and is characterized by flowing circular movements. It is gentle, graceful and suitable for people of all ages.
